After a break of some eighteen months I have now been inveigled to do ‘one more’ walk. Hopefully this will be suitable in distance and duration for our advancing years and at the same time be in keeping with our tradition of not retracing our earlier steps. I have managed to re-establish contact with our navigator (Stan) and by special request we are visiting the Frensham Ponds area; off the A287 10 miles SW of Guildford, 4 miles South of Farnham.

Terrain: Gentle rolling hills and river valleys. Most of the paths are well walked with those near water becoming muddy in wet weather.
Length: 4.5 miles, 2.5 hours + stops
Start and Finish: In main car park for Frensham Great Pond (Toilets available)
Grid Reference: SU 84400 40500 on OS Landranger Map 186, MultiMap
Time and Date: 11.00 for 11.15am on Wednesday 25th April 2007

Notes:
1) Lunch stop at ‘The Blue Bell Inn’ Dockenfield from 12.30pm onwards.
2) There will be charge of £2 each to be given in full to the Royal Marsden Children’s Unit Fund.
3) Ex-employees and/or their families of BAE Systems and predecessor companies will he welcome.
4) Thanks again to Stan Stapleton for helping with the arrangements.
5) Safety is the personal responsibility of each participant and the organisers absolve themselves from any liability arising from any accident however caused.
