This year's Association Visit is to the Imperial War Museum London (Lambeth Road, SE1 6HZ, 020 7416 5000) which has recently reopened after a multi million pound two year refurbishment. The Visit will be on Wednesday September 10th in place of the usual Association Monthly Meeting at the Hawker Centre.

Those wishing to join the Visit should
(a) inform Frank Rainsborough (phone 01784 247888 or email ) so that we know the number of attendees and
(b) make their own way to the Museum.

The best way to get to the IWM is from Waterloo Station; walking takes about 15 minutes and the route is signposted. Those with bus passes can take the number 59 bus from outside Waterloo to the Museum. (Those who can't walk, read signs, maps or bus numbers should hail a cab!) Only joking.

Imperial War Museum Visit 2014 Details Updated  3Sep14

We meet at or near the Museum's 'Information Desk' in the foyer; we are expected at 11:30. This time was chosen to allow our Members to avail themselves of the cheap rail return tickets.

After gathering in the foyer IWM Staff member, 'Alex' will welcome us with a short (10 minute) introduction.

We disperse to view the exhibits, but all viewing ceases at 18:00 when the Museum closes. Your visit to the Museum is free.

There is plenty to see in the enlarged, refurbished Museum, so it will take a few hours; there is a good cafeteria on site. The Museum has proper disability access.

If anyone has any further questions they should contact Frank Rainsborough.

We look forward to meeting you on September 10th.
