The Hawker Association sponsored Kingston Aviation Centenary Project has an ambitious programme to achieve this year. The big public event, the Kingston Aviation Festival, is less than 6 months away. We need a website in place and publicity rolling well before that. There are exhibitions to be designed, talks and presentations to be prepared, and an oral history project to get underway.

The project is organising itself with small teams of volunteers working with clear aims and making their own working arrangements. The plan is for each team to be at least 3 people to share the work and cover for each other.   All assistance will be valued, there is no assumption of regular or heavy commitments, providing the teams somehow meet their aims in time.

The use of e-mail and shared files really helps where volunteers are scattered. (For example the 3 man project planning team are working from home with occasional meetings in the project's office in North Kingston.  Other teams will be using the Brooklands Museum when they need to meet.)

We want to give everybody the opportunity to contribute to the success of this exciting project, prior knowledge of Kingston's aviation history is not essential and there is even a small budget to help with travelling expenses where that is an issue.

Do you think you could help one of the following teams?
