The committee is asking members if they would like to share their hobbies and interests at the Hawker Association meeting on 12th September.

The options are to have a 5 to 10 minute slot to talk about one of your hobbies and interests or simply to bring things to display as a talking point with other members.

There will be tables as well as a laptop, projector and screen available.

You can just bring things along on the day but if you would like to give a short talk and/or slideshow it would help if you could let us know beforehand to pre-arrange a programme. Please contact Frank Rainsborough via frank@rainsborough.me.uk or phone 01784 247888.

Member Mike Fantham will give a short talk entitled 'Model Flying is a technical sport.'  He currently flies Hand Launched Radio-Control Gliders, and he has been the UK Team Manager in that class of gliders at all the International Championship held since 2011. He was World Champion in Free-Flight model gliders in 1993; such hidden talents we have within our membership!

Frank Rainsborough has model aircraft to display but his are not capable of flying, they are die-cast in 1:72 scale.  He'll bring his Sea Furies and Harriers for members to inspect and other marques, mostly naval aviation.

David Hassard will give a slide show of photographs of a stretch of Thames through the seasons.

Kieron Kirk will give a short talk on a first year as a volunteer at Brooklands Museum.

There may be other contributors who will have something to offer on the day, and if you've got something that you'd like to tell your fellow members about, we'd be all ears!
