11 September Ian Whittle gave us a fascinating presentation on the Genesis of the Turbofan jet. The talk covered the earliest development of turbojet propulsion and include some details of developments in Germany and the USA. He flew the earliest British jets – the Gloster Meteor, the De Havilland Vampire and the Hawker Hunter.
3 August YMCA Hawker is temporarily closed due to illegal occupation by travellers
12 June Although cold for June 26 members were able to be outside and enjoy a good BBQ prepared by YMCA Hawker.

13 March Anthony Inglis LRCM brought us a most interesting talk entitled ‘9 pilots – 1 Family’. The recording is available in the usual library. Please remember that the recording is only for members of the Association and the link must not be shared. David Priddy
14 February Nick Anderson gave a very interesting talk ‘Life in a Hornets Nest describing how he was posted to Australia to fly their brand new F/A18 Hornets on No 77 Squadron RAAF. Nick returns to tell us about his experiences mastering this remarkable fighter aircraft and his eventful time in a land Down Under
The ‘Hawker Archive’ channel of YouTube, which operates in a similar way to the main HA Video Library, has some DVD videos of early talks. Access to this is restricted to Hawker Association Members; the link can be obtained from a committee member. David Priddy.
10 January Rear Admiral David Snelson RN gave us a very interesting talk on the Five HMS Ark Royals from around 1582.
